ACT Practitioners
Lawyers with a practicing certificate in the ACT can register to become a member of the Russell Fox Library. This gives access to borrow most material from our collection (loans are generally two weeks for texts and overnight for loose-leaf services and law reports).

As the library is primarily for the Judges and Magistrates of the ACT Courts and ACAT Members, there is no physical access to the hard copy collection to the public, including members. We have a public reading area with a catalogue terminal and we will provide any requested hard copy material from the collection.
Newly admitted lawyers who have contributed to the library via their admission fee, still need to register to become a member of the library.
If you contact us ahead of your arrival with your request (general or specific) we can have material ready for you.
There is access to Lexis Advance, Westlaw AU and the ACT Sentencing Database via the terminal in the public part of the library.
Interstate Practitioners
We recommend that interstate practitioners wishing to use the services of the library contact us ahead of time so we can organise access to any required resources. Material borrowed is for court use only and is not to be taken off the court premises.
Self-represented litigants
Self-represented litigants are welcome to use of our collection within the Library premises. We can assist with locating material and getting started with databases, however we are not able to provide, what would constitute ‘legal advice’ which includes informing about which form or legislation to use.
Members of the public
Members of the public can use Library resources on-site. Please contact us to discuss how we can help you.

Copy and printing facilities available (fee applied).
