Wills
As of 11 June 2025, the Court will no longer provide a service for the depositing and storing of wills.
Wills previously deposited with the Court will be progressively transferred to the Public Trustee and Guardian for the Australian Capital Territory. It is expected that process will be complete by 30 June 2025.
After 30 June 2025 Individuals seeking to uplift a will previously deposited with the Court should contact the Public Trustee and Guardian. Further information on these arrangements, including contact details for the Public Trustee and Guardian, can be found on the Public Trustee and Guardian’s website.
These changes reflect the ACT Government’s amendments to the Wills Act 1968, which removes provisions allowing for wills to be deposited with the Court.
